Completion Date: March 2002
In need of additional educational, common, and residential space to meet the growing needs of the school, The New England Carpenter’s Training Fund chose Regent Associates to design the addition and renovations to its building in central Massachusetts. As a training center and providing ground for union carpenters, it was important to use materials and methods native to carpentry trades, such as laminated wood structures and cast-in-place architectural concrete walls.
The addition included a large lecture hall, cafeteria and kitchen, various types of training and classroom spaces, and support areas. Renovations to the entrance lobby, office areas, and dormitory residences for women and men were completed at the same time.
