This new 31,000 square foot headquarters for one of the region’s largest providers of health care related services was built on a very compact site in the downtown area. Public streets on three sides and a large parking area on the remaining side border the site.

A design scheme was evolved that provided a three story atrium at the core of the U-shaped building to allow a restful, quiet ambiance for the three hundred staff nurses who spend some part of each workday in the building. The building’s exterior is precast concrete and features a thirty foot high glass block wall enclosing the west side of the atrium. A first floor day care center with adjacent playground provides a valuable amenity to the VNA staff, and a large meeting room is available to the community as well as to the VNA.
